See Our Movement and Creativity

As with any other language, reading and writing are important. However, we must first learn to “speak” music by playing with sounds, movements, and musical ideas.

Students of every age write their own music at an appropriate level. Here, 3rd & 4th graders compose and record music that describes the Inspirational Leader they are studying. They chose what instruments would best fit their character, along with tempo, dynamics, and time signatures. They wrote down rhythms that would fit their personality, and recorded their pieces one instrument at a time.

Dance is an incredibly important skill that helps us not only embody music, but learn social graces, kindness to others, and coordination. Dance has deep roots in almost every culture, and we love to explore the expression and values that it teaches us!
